SYMPTOMS

When you use the Managekey.exe tool in Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002 to synchronize encryption keys, you may notice that other servers in the Web farm cannot decrypt the MCMS authentication cookies.

To restart the AESecurityService service, follow these steps:

  2. In the list of services, right-click AESecurityService, and then click Restart.
To restart the IIS Admin service, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK. The Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in opens.
  2. In the list of services, right-click IIS Admin Service, and then click Restart.
