You have to specify certain Group Policy settings before you can remotely administer Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) or remotely edit local Group Policy objects in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (883611)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (SP2)
SUMMARYBy default, the Windows Firewall feature is enabled
in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). Incoming requests against unopened ports are blocked by Windows Firewall. (These incoming requests are different from responses to requests that originate from the computer.) This default setting impacts how Group Policy Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) is used across the network. When you install Windows XP SP2, you must enable certain Group Policy settings before you can remotely administer RSoP or remotely edit local Group Policy objects (GPOs).
