SYMPTOMS
On your Microsoft Windows XP-based computer that has Microsoft Client Service for NetWare installed, you receive an error message that is similar to the following error message:
Cannot copy <filename>. Cannot find specified path. Make sure you specified the correct path.
The error message occurs when you use the Cut command and the Paste command to move a file or a folder from one folder to another folder in the same Netware volume. However, you can do the following things:
- You can use the Cut command and the Paste command to move a file or a folder from one folder to another folder in two different NetWare volumes.
- You can copy a file or a folder from one folder to another folder regardless of the NetWare volumes.
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this hotfix.
