Not all folders are correctly imported from SharePoint Portal Server 2001 workspace to SharePoint Portal Server 2003 (867800)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003
SYMPTOMSWhen you run the Spin.exe tool to import content from a
Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 workspace to an area in Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, some links still point to folders in the
SharePoint Portal Server 2001 workspace.CAUSEThis issue occurs when the
folders that were converted by the Spout.exe tool contain spaces in their
names. The spaces in the folder name are converted to the "%20" character code.
When this behavior occurs, the Spin.exe tool cannot find a matching link to these altered
folder names. Therefore, the Spin.exe tool does not import these folders into the new
workspace area and instead uses the link to the older workspace location.RESOLUTIONThis problem is corrected in Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Service Pack 1. To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
