SYMPTOMS

On your Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer that hosts a File Replication service (FRS) replica set, a warning event that is similar to the following may be logged in the FRS event log:Event Type: Warning
Event Source: ESENT
Event Category: Table/Column/Index Definition
Event ID: 614
Description:
ntfrs (1940) Database 'c:\winnt\ntfrs\jet\ntfrs.jdb': The secondary index 'WReplicaSetNameIndex' of table 'ConfigTable' may be corrupt. If there is no later event showing the index being rebuilt, then please defragment the database to rebuild the index. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://support.microsoft.com.Note Examples of an FRS replica set that your computer may host include the Domain System Volume (Sysvol share), a replicated Distributed File System (DFS) root, or a DFS link.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • You recently upgraded your computer from Microsoft Windows 2000 Server to Windows Server 2003.
  • Some of the indexes in the FRS Jet database were not updated during the system upgrade.
When these conditions are true, FRS tries to automatically fix any corrupted indexes. FRS typically recovers from this event without requiring additional action.

Unless event ID 614 is repeated, you can ignore it.
