SYMPTOMS
When you click a link to a URL that is in a Microsoft Outlook Express e-mail message, you may experience one of the following symptoms, an incorrect Web page may open, or you may receive
an error message that is similar to the following error message:
The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 service pack that contains this hotfix.

To enable this hotfix, you must modify the registry:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click one of the following subkeys in the registry:

- On the Edit menu, click Modify.
- Type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
- Restart your computer.
