Labels on the chart may overlap in Excel 2004 for Mac (841422)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a worksheet that has a chart in Microsoft Excel 2004 for Mac, the labels on the chart may overlap.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Double-click one of the labels.
  2. In the Format Data Labels dialog, click the Font tab.
  3. Change the font size to one size smaller.

    For example, if the current font size is 11, change the size to 10.
  4. Click OK.
  5. If the problem continues, repeat steps 1through 4.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
