The Help URL for List View Web Parts is restored to use the default setting in Windows SharePoint Services (840930)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, when you modify a List View Web Part to use a custom Help URL, you may find that the custom Help URL is not applied the next time that you view the List View Web Part or the next time that you edit the List View Web Part. The next time that you view the Web Part, and then click Help or the next time that you edit the Web Part, the Help URL uses the default setting.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Windows SharePoint Services restores the Help URL of List View Web Parts to use the default setting. By design, Windows SharePoint Services works this way. The default URL of List View Web Parts is as follows:

http://ServerName/FolderName/SiteName/_vti_bin/Help/1033/Sts/html/Dlistwps.htm



Note In this URL, ServerName is a placeholder for the server
