SYMPTOMS
When you try to connect to a Distributed File System (DFS)
root server by using the following syntax, the DFS referral may not connect your computer to a DFS root server in your client computer
site:
\\Root_Target\Target_share
Instead of connecting you to a local DFS root server, the DFS referral may connect your computer to a random DFS root server. This random DFS root server may include a DFS root server in a remote site.
