In Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, closing an opportunity before all sales stages are completed cancels the open activities (839165)

- Microsoft CRM 1.2
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft® Business Solutions CRM 1.2, create a sales process that creates tasks in each stage and has a wait condition that waits for the tasks to be completed or canceled before moving to the next sales stage. Closing the opportunity before the sales process is complete will automatically cancel the tasks from the current stage and open the tasks from the next stage.
For example: If you have the following sales process:
When opportunity is created
Stage1 Create Task 1 wait Task 1 is either completed or canceled end stage
Stage2 Create Task 2 wait Task 2 is either completed or canceled end stage
Stage3 Create Task 3 wait Task 3 is either completed or canceled end stage
Closing the opportunity while it is in Stage 1 will automatically cancel Task 1. Because Task 1 is being canceled, the wait condition is being met. Therefore, the opportunity jumps to Stage 2 and Task 2 opens. This causes the owner of the opportunity to have to manually cancel Task 2. Canceling Task 2 after the opportunity is closed will not jump the opportunity to Stage 3 or open Task 3.RESOLUTIONMicrosoft Business Solutions CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: 892949 Update rollup 1 is available for Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook 1.2
