SYMPTOMS

An application that uses the Microsoft Enterprise Instrumentation Framework (EIF) stops responding, and you experience an InvalidOperationException error.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because an internal deadlock makes the application stop working. This problem persists until you restart the computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0.
