This article describes how to add an existing set of pushpins to a route in Microsoft Streets and Trips and in Microsoft MapPoint.

To add an existing set of pushpins to a route, follow these steps:
  1. Start Streets and Trips or MapPoint.
  2. Click Route, and then click Route Planner.
  3. On the Navigation toolbar, click Select.

    The Select tool is typically located to the right of Zoom.
  4. Draw a box around the pushpins that you want to add to your route.

    To do this, hold down your mouse button, and then drag the pointer diagonally across the area that you want to select. In the Route Planner under Type a place or address, verify that Pushpins in selected area is selected.
  5. Click Add to Route.
To add a pushpin to your map, follow these steps:
  1. On the Drawing toolbar, click Pushpin.
  2. Click the location on the map where you want add the pushpin.
  3. Click the shaded area of the text box, and then type a name for the pushpin.
  4. Click below the pushpin name, and then type any additional text or notes.
  5. Close the text box.
  6. Click File, and then click Save.
