The Microsoft Enterprise Single Server Sign-On component is not removed when you remove BizTalk Server 2004 (838698)

SYMPTOMS

After you remove Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 from your computer, you may notice that Microsoft Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) system still appears in the list of currently installed programs in Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Enterprise SSO system is not removed when you remove BizTalk Server 2004 from the computer. The Enterprise SSO system is a shared component and may be used by other programs other than BizTalk Server 2004.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior if no other programs are installed that use the Enterprise SSO system, follow these steps:
  1. Remove BizTalk Server 2004.
  2. In Control Panel, click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
  3. Remove the Enterprise SSO system from the computer.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
