FIX: BizTalk Scriptor error handling does not work correctly when you install BizTalk Server 2002 Service Pack 1 (838576)

SYMPTOMS

After you apply Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 Service Pack 1 (SP1), when you use the BizTalk Scriptor Application Integration Component (AIC) and the script encounters an error, you may notice the following event in the event log:

The system has called a custom component and that component has failed and generated 
an exception. This indicates a problem with the custom component. Notify the developer 
of this component that a failure has occurred and provide them with the information 
below.

The document that is being processed when the error occurs remains in the Work queue and is not moved to the Retry queue.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
