SYMPTOMSWhen the train crosses switches or climbs a steep hill, the
engine may separate from the cars.CAUSEThis issue may occur if you are stressing the couplers by
driving the train too fast or too slow for conditions. This issue may also
occur if you are having video card issues.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use the following methods in the
order that they appear. Method 1: Install the Train Simulator updateAn update has been created to resolve issues with several video
cards. To download and install the update, visit the following Microsoft Web
site: Method 2: Adjust the speed of the train Try to cross the switches at optimal speed for that section of
line. Avoid going too fast or too slow. Method 3: Update your video driver- Click Start, point to
Programs, point to Microsoft Games, point to
Train Simulator, and then click Train Simulator
Troubleshooter.
- Click Change Video Driver.
- Click OK.
- Click Play Train Simulator.

Method 4: Increase the screen resolutionNote Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the

- Click Start, and then click
Control Panel.
- Click Appearance and Themes, and then
click Display.
- On the Settings tab, move the slider bar
to the right to increase the screen resolution, and then click
OK.
