SUMMARY
This article describes the Microsoft Office Word 2003 issues
that are fixed in the Word 2003 hotfix package that is dated March 22, 2004.
back to the topIssues that are fixed in the hotfix package
The following issues are fixed in this hotfix package but were not
previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- If you open the header or footer of a Word 2003 document
(although you do not type any characters in the header or in the footer), and
then you save your Word 2003 document as Plain text (*.txt)
(on the File menu, click Save As, and then
change the Save as type box), when you view your new text file
in a text editor (such as Notepad), you will notice that question marks were
incorrectly saved in the file.
- When you print a Word 2003 document that contains a table
with background color, the background color for each cell of the table may not
print correctly. This problem may occur when you change the paper size of the
Word 2003 document before you print (in the Print dialog box,
click Properties to change the paper size).
- The Reply with changes button is still
enabled after you select End Review on the reviewing toolbar.
This problem may occur when a document has been sent from
File, from Send to, or from Mail
recipient (for review) and has been returned to the author by using
the Reply with changes button on the reviewing toolbar. The
author of the document opens the document, merges the changes, and then selects
End Review on the reviewing toolbar. If the document is saved
and reopened, the Reply with Changes button is enabled.
- When you print to a PostScript printer and the scaling
property for the printer is set to larger than 100 percent, AutoShape lines may
not print. The larger the scaling percentage, the more the lines will be cut
off. Scaling for the printer can be set if you select Print on
the File menu, click Print, click
Properties, and then click
Advance.
