You cannot expand a playlist for content on a Web server (837170)

SYMPTOMS

You cannot expand a playlist when you use Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series to play content that resides on a Web server. You cannot expand the playlist to view each playlist item.

This behavior is by design.

Whether you can expand the playlist to view each item depends on where the playlist is located:
  • You can expand playlists that are located on the local hard disk. When you use Windows Media Player to play playlists that include files such as .asx files or .wvx files, you can expand the playlist and see each item in the playlist.
  • You cannot expand playlists that are located on a Web server. However, you can move through the playlist by using the Next button and the Previous button.
