Application Center 2000 does not replicate all Health Monitor custom actions (837114)

  • Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP1
  • Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP2

INTRODUCTION

You can create Health Monitor custom actions on a cluster controller. However, if those actions are not used by a synchronized Data Collector, the actions will not be replicated to the other cluster member servers.

MORE INFORMATION

If you create a Health Monitor custom action on a cluster controller, and if that action is not used by a synchronized Data Collector or by a synchronized Data Group, that action will not be replicated to the other cluster member servers.

If you remove a custom action from all synchronized Data Collectors and Data Groups on the cluster controller, that action will be deleted from all cluster member servers.

If you want to guarantee that your custom actions are always replicated to cluster member servers, you can create a dummy synchronized data collector that monitors a condition that will never go critical, and you can assign all your custom actions to that dummy synchronized data collector.
This behavior is by design.
