The remote access MprAdminUserGetInfo function leaks memory in Performance Monitor in Windows 2000 (837021)


The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you use Performance Monitor in Microsoft Windows 2000 to monitor the private bytes for a program that calls the remote access MprAdminUserGetInfo function, you may detect a small memory leak for each call that the program makes to the function.

Note To start Performance Monitor, click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Performance.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the MprAdminUserGetInfo function allocates a small buffer for a string comparison. The buffer is not freed when it returns to a function that makes the call.

RESOLUTION
