"Stop" error when you install a slipstreamed copy of Windows 2000 SP4 over a USB CD-ROM drive (836567)

SYMPTOMS
When you install a slipstreamed copy of Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) over a universal serial bus (USB) CD-ROM drive, you may experience a "stop" error after you click Finish. CAUSEThis problem occurs because of a race condition in the USB during the device-removal process.
Note This is a software problem in Windows 2000 SP4, and its occurrence does not indicate a problem with your system hardware.
