The Signature Certificate list contains duplicate entries in BizTalk Server 2004 (836480)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, when you create a party resolution entry for a trading partner that has multiple public key certificates, the public key certificates appear as duplicate entries in the Signature Certificate list. The information that appears in the list is not sufficient to differentiate between the public key certificates for the trading partner.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Signature Certificate list displays only the subject field information for the public key certificates of your trading partners. Therefore, if a trading partner has multiple public key certificates that have the same contact information, local information, and organization information, the public key certificates appear in the Signature Certificate list as duplicate entries.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
