topIssues that are fixed in the hotfix package
The following issues are fixed in this hotfix package but were not
previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you create a new Word 2000 document from a template
that contains an AutoNew macro that updates fields and inserts an AutoText
entry with a textbox in the header of the document, Word may quit unexpectedly
and you receive the following error message:
Microsoft
Word for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience.
If you view the details of the error message, you
receive an error signature that is similar to the following:
AppName AppVer ModName ModVer Offset
----------------------------------------------------------
Winword.exe 9.0.0.6929 Winword.exe 9.0.0.6929 001d3432
- When you type text in a Word 2000 document that wraps to a
new line, gridlines may disappear. This issue may occur when all the following
conditions are true:
- You have Microsoft Word 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3)
installed.
- You start the Magnifier tool (click
Start, point to All Programs, point to
Accessories, and then point to Accessibility)
before you start Word 2000.
- You turn on gridlines after you start Word and before
you start typing text. To turn on gridlines in Word, follow these steps:
- Start Word.
- On the View menu, point to
Toolbars, and then click Drawing.
- On the Drawing toolbar, click
Draw, and then click Grid.
- In the Drawing Grid dialog box,
click to select the Display gridlines on screen check box, and
then click OK.
