SYMPTOMSYou may not be able to synchronize the time of the virtual machine's operating
system with the time of the physical computer's operating system.CAUSEThis issue may occur if the following conditions are true:
- You run any one of the following operating systems on the
virtual machine:
- IBM OS/2
- Novell NetWare
- Linux
- BSD UNIX
- Sun Solaris
- A time synchronization tool is not installed on the
virtual machine's operating system.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, install a time
synchronization tool for the operating system that you are running on the
virtual machine. The following list contains information about where you can
obtain time synchronization tools for the operating system that you are running
on the virtual machine:
- IBM OS/2
OS/2 Additions are included on the Virtual PC 2004 installation CD. - Novell NetWare
Download and install Vpctime.nlm from
Novell. For more information about how to do so, visit the following Novell Web
site: - Linux and BSD UNIX
Download and install the NTP time
synchronization utility program. For more information about how to do so, visit
the following NTP Web site:
