A POST operation to an HTTP server is unsuccessful (833059)


The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When Microsoft Internet Explorer sends data to an HTTP server by using the POST method, Internet Explorer may not complete the operation if more than about 16 kilobytes (KB) data is sent.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer uses 16-KB buffers. When more than 16 KB of data is sent, the part of the packet that exceeds 16 KB is placed in a second buffer. This second buffer might not be sent to the server because the calculation of the data incorrectly determines that the packet fit in the first buffer.

RESOLUTION

This fix is supported only when all previously issued fixes for this product have also been installed.

Restart Requirement

After you install this update, you must clean and build the whole platform.
