Channel listings are mapped to channel 1 after you download the Program Guide in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 (832639)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
SYMPTOMSWhen you download your Program Guide in Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition 2004, you may notice that several cable channel listings
have been mapped to channel 1 in the Program Guide.CAUSEThis problem occurs if you have configured your TV Signal to
use Cable without a set-top box and the available channels from your cable TV
provider exceeds the standard number of channels in the channel database.
Typically this is 100 channels; however it may vary with different models of
Media Center-based computers.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, you must reassign the channel
number for each cable channel listing that has been mapped to channel 1. To do
so, follow these steps:
- Press the Windows Media Center Start
button on the Media Center remote control.
- Select My TV.
- Select Settings.
- Select Guide.
- Select Edit Guide listings.
- Select Edit numbers.
- Modify the required channel numbers.
Note If you assign a number that already exists to another channel,
Media Center will inform you that there is a conflict and prompt you to resolve
the conflict. - Select Save.
STATUSMicrosoft
