"Cannot publish master projects" error message when you try to publish a master project to Microsoft Project Server 2002 (832596)

SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Project Professional 2002, when you try to
publish a master project to Microsoft Project Server 2002, you may receive the
following error message: Cannot publish master projects.
The administrator settings on the server prevent you from publishing
a master project. Please contact your Microsoft Project server
administrator. CAUSE This issue may occur if Project Server 2002 is not
configured to allow master projects. This issue may occur if one or both of the
following conditions is true:
- The Allow master projects in Microsoft Project
Server. option on the Manage enterprise features page is turned
off.
- The Allow master projects to be published to
Microsoft Project Server option on the Manage organization page is
turned off.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, log on to Microsoft Project Web
Access, and then configure Project Server 2002 to allow master projects to be
published. To do so, follow these steps:
- Log on to Project Web Access.
- Click Admin, and then click Manage
enterprise features.
- Under Enable or disable the enterprise features of
the Microsoft Project Server, click to select the Allow master
projects in Microsoft Project Server. check box (if the check box is
not already selected), and then click Save Changes.
- Click Manage organization.
- Under Select the features that you want to make
available to users in Microsoft Project Web Access, click to select
the Allow master projects to be published to Microsoft Project
Server check box, and then click Save
Changes.
