MSBBN: Connectivity is lost when you turn off DHCP on your MN-700 base station (831256)

SYMPTOMSWhen you turn off Dynamic Host-Client Protocol (DHCP) on
your Microsoft MN-700 wireless base station, your network computers with
statically assigned Internet Protocol (IP) addresses may lose their connection
to the Internet.RESOLUTIONA new firmware is available that addresses this issue. To
resolve this issue, update the firmware for your base station. To obtain and
install this update, use one of the following methods. Method 1: Use automatic updatesConfigure your Broadband Network Utility to automatically check
for updates. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start the Broadband Network Utility.
- On the Tools menu, click
Options.
- Under Broadband Networking Update Service,
click Automatically check for software updates, and then click
OK.
- Follow the prompts to install the update when you are
prompted to do so.
Method 2: Use the Broadband Network UtilityTo update your firmware by using the Broadband Network Utility,
follow these steps:
- Start the Broadband Network Utility.
- On the Help menu, click Check for
updates online.
- Follow the instructions on the Microsoft Broadband
Networking Web site to download and install the firmware update for your base
station.
