"This form is not available for this list" error message when you upload a document to a document library in Windows SharePoint Services (831021)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to upload a document to a document library in your Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services Web site, you may receive the following error message:
This form is not available for this list, discussion board, survey, or document library.

If this problem persists, please contact your administrator.

CAUSE

The issue may occur if the Upload.aspx file is deleted from the document library.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, delete the document library and then re-create it. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Delete the document library. To do so, follow these steps:
    1. Connect to your Windows SharePoint Service Web site, and then on the top link bar, click Documents and Lists.
    2. On the Document and Lists page, under Document Libraries, click the document library that you want to delete.
    3. On the DocumentLibraryName Document Library page, in the Actions area, click Modify settings and columns.
    4. On the Customize DocumentLibraryName Document Library page, under General Settings, click Delete this document library.
    5. Click OK when you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
  2. Create a new document library. To do so, follow these steps:
    1. On the top link bar, click Create.
    2. On the Create Page page, click Document Library.
    3. On the New Document Library page, in the Name and Description area, type the name that you want for the document library in the Name box.

      If you want to include a description, in the Description box, type text that describes the document library.
    4. In the Navigation area, specify whether you want to display a link to the document library in the Quick Launch bar on the Home page.
    5. In the Document Versions area, specify whether you want to create a version each time that you edit a file in the document library.
    6. In the Document Template area, specify the document template that you want to use.
    7. Click Create.
