List Items May Not Appear in a Data View Web Part When Authoring in a Different Language (830972)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003
SYMPTOMSWhen you open a Web site by using a version of Microsoft
Office FrontPage 2003 that is in a language other than the language that the
Web site was created in, data views may not display any items.
For
example, if you create a Web site by using the English version of Front Page
2003, and then open the Web site by using the German version, list items are
not displayed after you click Data Source Properties on the
TaskPane, click Fields, and then click
OK to return to the page. CAUSEThis problem may occur if the words "row" and "rows" in the
page code are not localized correctly.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, open the page that contains the
list and replace the words "rows" and "row" with the correct localized version
of these words for the language that you want to use. To do this, follow these
steps:
- Open the Web page in Front Page 2003.
- Open the page that contains the list in Design view, and
then select the list.
- Switch to Code view and locate the selected portion of the
page.
- Locate any instances of the words "row" or "rows", and then
replace them with the correct localized term for the version of Microsoft Front
Page that you are using.
- Save the Web page.
