Audio note files (*.wma) that are associated with pages in a section that you delete from a OneNote 2003 notebook remain in the folder where the notebook resides (830873)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office OneNote 2003
- Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, Service Pack 1 (SP1)
SYMPTOMSWhen you delete a section from a Microsoft Office OneNote
2003 notebook, any audio note files (*.wma) that are associated with pages in
the deleted section do not delete from the folder that the notebook resides
in.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, you must manually delete the
*.wma files from the notebook folder. To determine the *.wma file that belonged
to the pages of the section that you deleted, the file name of the first *.wma
file will be the same as the page title with the file name extension of .wma.
Additional audio note files on the same page will also have the same
name as the page title, followed by a hyphen and a number, starting with the
number two(2) and then followed by *.wma.
For example: If the page
is named "Test page", the file names of the audio notes for that page are "Test
page.wma", "Test page - 2.wma", "Test page - 3.wma" and so on. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
