You Are Prompted to Insert the Correct CD-ROM When You Try to Install the Live Communications Server Administration Tools (830524)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003 Administration Tools on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based or a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you may be prompted to insert the Live Communications Server CD-ROM even though the correct CD-ROM is in the CD-ROM drive. You cannot successfully install Live Communications Server 2003.CAUSEThis behavior may occur if you already have a pre-release version of the Live Communications Server Administration Tools installed. When you try to install the Administration Tools, Setup tries to upgrade the pre-release version of the Administration Tools to the released version. However, because the released version of the Live Communications Server CD-ROM has a different name (LCRTMENVOL) than the pre-release version, Setup prompts you to insert the CD-ROM. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, remove the pre-release version of the Administration Tools, and then use the Live Communications Server CD-ROM to install the released version.
