SYMPTOMS

Resolved cases in the Customer Service module of Microsoft CRM version 1.0 that contain a description that is longer than four lines cannot be completely viewed.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that the following describes. Apply the hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix. Installation information

Install this hotfix on every Microsoft CRM server. You do not need to restart the computer after installing the hotfix. This hotfix cannot be uninstalled.

After this hotfix is installed, you need to perform the following detailed procedures:
  • Republish customizations
  • Reset Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • Go online with each Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook (the Outlook client) computer

Republish customizations
  1. Log on to the Microsoft CRM Server computer as a user with administrative privileges.
  2. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft CRM, and then click Deployment Manager.
  3. If necessary, expand Deployment Manager in the console tree.
  4. Right-click Deployment Manager, select All Tasks, and then click Publish Customization.
  5. Click Select All, and then click Next.
  6. Click Add, select your Microsoft CRM server, click Add, and then click Finish.
  7. When publishing is complete, click OK.
Reset IIS
  1. On the Start menu, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  2. At the command prompt, type IISRESET, and press Enter.
  3. Close the command prompt window.

Go online with each Outlook client computer
  1. Open the Outlook client computer.
  2. Go online.
