Text Is Positioned Incorrectly When You Open an AutoCAD Drawing (830251)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Office Visio 2003, when you save a drawing as an AutoCAD drawing (.dwg file) and then open it again, the text may be positioned incorrectly. The text may no longer be in the same position that the text was in before you saved the file. Frequently, the text appears outside the shape.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when all the following conditions are true:
  • The shape that contains the text has been flipped.
  • The shape that contains the text has been aligned left or right.
  • The shape that contains the text has had a text-transform applied to it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
