A hyperlink does not work on a Web page that is created in Visio 2003 (830041)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2003
- Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2003
SYMPTOMSWhen you use your Web browser to view a Microsoft Office
Visio 2003 file that has been published to a Web site and you click a shape
that contains a hyperlink, the hyperlink may not work. The hyperlink may
contain the characters %5C where it should contain a forward slash character (/). You may receive an HTML error message in your Web
browser.CAUSEThis problem may occur if you view the Web page by using a
Web browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer, and the Web page that you
view is on a UNIX server. The characters %5C are the hexadecimal equivalent of the backward slash character (\). If the path of the linked file contains backward slash
characters, when you use Save as Web page to publish the Visio
file to a Web page, the backward slash characters are not converted to forward
slash characters automatically. The link that contains backward slash
characters will not be followed by a Web browser other than Internet Explorer.
Visio does not give you the option to convert the backward slash
characters to forward slash characters when you save the Visio file as a Web
page. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section of this article.
