Peer-to-Peer Networking, an operating system component that makes it possible
for developers to create new peer-to-peer (P2P) programs for computers that are
running Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 and later. The session will discuss
how P2P applications can use powerful, leading edge personal computers to
create exciting, distributed experiences. It will also talk about how P2P
networking can also help make existing programs work together in new and useful
ways. This is a

200 session that will be presented by Ravi Rao. Ravi Rao joined
Microsoft three and one-half years ago, and is currently a Program Manager on
the Peer Networking team. He has been closely involved in creating the platform
right from its inception, and before that also worked on creating the Universal
Plug and Play platform at Microsoft. Ravi did his graduate studies at Michigan
State specializing in distributed computing and reliable
