SYMPTOMSWhen you try to update the operating system on your computer from the Microsoft Windows Update Services Web site, Security Update for Windows (819696) may be included in the list of critical updates and service packs for you to review and install even though you have already installed DirectX 9.0b. DirectX 9.0b contains the 819696 update.CAUSEThis issue may occur if either of the following conditions is true: - The DWORD value for the following Registry key is less than 4.09.00.0900:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX - You have an earlier version of Quartz.dll
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, reinstall DirectX 9.0b on your computer. To do so, visit the Microsoft Download Center.
