Some Custom Dynamic Reports May Stop Working After You Upgrade to Commerce Server 2002 (829745)


The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade from Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 to Commerce Server 2002, some custom dynamic reports may stop working. The query in these reports works correctly in the MDX sample application. The following 44555 error message is logged in the application event log: Report renderer : Calc renderer failed. MyReport

CAUSE

This problem occurs if either of the following is true:
  • The query returns more than 10 columns.
  • The query contains a NON EMPTY CROSSJOIN statement.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Commerce Server 2002 service pack that contains this hotfix.
