You cannot apply the Disable Windows Explorer's default context menu policy after you install Internet Explorer 6 SP1 (829472)

SYMPTOMS

When you apply the Disable Windows Explorer's default context menu policy, the policy does not work correctly. If you apply the policy and then click the right mouse button in the left pane of Windows Explorer, the shortcut menu appears. (In Windows Explorer, the left pane appears only when you use Folders view.)

Note In Microsoft Windows XP and in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, this policy is named Remove Windows Explorer's default context menu. The policy prevents shortcut menus from appearing when you right-click items in Windows Explorer.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you apply the Disable Windows Explorer's default context menu policy and then upgrade the computer to Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the MS04-004 Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer.
