BUG: Database Components Are Not Installed When You Install SQL Server Notification Services (829091)

SQL Server 9.0:2600 SYMPTOMSWhen you install Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Notification
Services, SQL Server 2000 Notification Services database components are not installed. You may receive the following error message: The database components require a qualified version of SQL
Server on the machine. This problem occurs even when SQL
Server 2000 is installed on the computer where you want to install SQL Server
2000 Notification Services. CAUSEWhen you remove an instance of SQL Server 2000, the Sqdedev.dll file may also be removed from the computer. If the Sqdedev.dll file is not available on the computer where you want to
install SQL Server 2000 Notification Services, the problem that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section of this article may occur.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, copy the Sqdedev.dll file on your computer. To do so, follow these steps: - Note the version of SQL Server 2000 that is running on the computer
where you want to install SQL Server 2000 Notification
Services.
- Copy the Sqdedev.dll file that corresponds to your version of SQL Server 2000 to the <drivename>\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\80\Tools\Binn folder (where <drivename> is the name of the drive that you
selected when you installed SQL Server 2000.
