SYMPTOMS

When you save a file to your Microsoft Office Project Server 2003-based server, you may receive the following warning message:
Local Resource resource name has the same name as an Enterprise Resource and must be changed before the project can be saved.

The Local Resource cannot be replaced by the enterprise resource with the same name because either:

The Enterprise Resource is already a team member.

You do not have permissions to bring the Enterprise Resource named resource name into your project.

The Local and Enterprise Resources are of different types.

You do not have Build Team permissions on this project.

You do not have Assign Resource permissions on this resource.

Rename the Local Resource or cancel the save?

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, remove the Microsoft Windows account information from the Local Resource. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to the computer as the administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
  2. Create a new local user account for the user who does not belong to the Local Resource.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION
