A control bar appears when you play a video clip in a PowerPoint 2003 presentation (827113)

SYMPTOMSWhen you play a video clip in a PowerPoint 2003 slide show
presentation, a control bar may appear below the video clip
object.CAUSEThis behavior may occur when the following conditions are
true:
- The video is inserted as a media clip
object.
-and- - The control bar setting for the media clip is turned
on.
-and- - The video clip is in the Audio Video Interleaved (AVI)
format.
RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, hide the controls when you play a
video clip. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start PowerPoint 2003, and then open the presentation that
contains the video clip.
- Right-click the video clip object, point to Video
Clip Object, and then click Edit.
- On the Media Player Edit menu, click
Options.
- Click to clear the Control Bar On
Playback check box, and then click OK.
MORE INFORMATION The behavior that is described in the "Symptoms" section of
this article does not occur when you use the Movies and Sounds
command on the Insert menu. It also does not occur if the
video clip is in a format other than the AVI format, such as MPEG file or
QuickTime.
