SYMPTOMS

The Online Help in Microsoft Office Project 2003 incorrectly includes information about the Database Upgrade utility to update your Microsoft Project 98, Microsoft Project 2000 (*.MPD), Microsoft Project 2002 (*.MPD), Microsoft Access (*.MDB), or any supported Open Database Connectivity (ODBC)-compliant database projects to the Project 2003 database format.

CAUSE

The Database Upgrade utility was removed from Project Professional 2003 and Project Standard 2003 before being released to manufacturing.

WORKAROUND

To upgrade your project, follow these steps:
  1. Start Project 2003.
  2. Open the project that you want to upgrade.
  3. Save the project.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
