The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

SYMPTOMSIf you have several Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP)
accounts in your profile and you have a rule for each account to move a copy of
all mail that is sent through each account to a folder in the IMAP store, only
the rules for the default account run. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the following
methods. Method 1: Save Your Message Before You Send It If you save your message before you send it, the rule that you
created runs as expected. Method 2: Modify the RuleYou can modify the rule so that it sends the message to the
default account's folder, instead of to a folder for the secondary account. To
do so, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Rules and
Alerts.
- Under Rule description, click the folder
name in Move a copy to the Folder_name
folder.
- Select a folder from the default IMAP account, and then
click OK.
- Click Apply, and then click
OK.
Method 3: Create a New RuleCreate a new rule so that the messages are forwarded to a folder
in the default account. To do so, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Rules and
Alerts.
- Click New Rule, click Start from a
blank rule, and then click Next.
- Click Check message after sending, and
then click Next.
- Click to select the through the specified
account check box.
- Click specified, select the secondary IMAP
account, click OK, and then click
Next.
- Click to select the Move a copy to the specified
folder check box.
- Click specified, select a folder from the
default IMAP account, click OK, and then click
Next.
- Click Finish, and then click
OK.
