You cannot copy Virtual PC to a removable or external hard disk drive (825354)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to copy the Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac program to a removable or external hard disk drive or storage media, you may receive the following error message:
One or more items have special permissions and cannot be copied. Do you want to skip them? Stop Continue

CAUSE

This issue occurs because some components of the Virtual PC for Mac program are locked for use by the Root User of the Mac computer. You cannot copy an installed copy of Virtual PC to a removable or external hard disk drive or to other storage media on your Mac computer.

RESOLUTION

If you want to put a copy of Virtual PC for Mac onto a removable or external hard disk drive or onto storage media, you must drag a copy from the Virtual PC for Mac Setup CD onto the removable or external hard disk drive or onto the storage media.
