You receive "Cannot obtain WSS item tp_ID" error message when you try to connect to a workspace in Project Server 2003 (825219)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer to try to connect to a Microsoft Project workspace, such as a document or meeting workspace, that was extended by using a Microsoft Project workspace template through Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot obtain WSS item tp_ID


You may receive this error message when you try to use subsites that include, but that are not limited to, document workspaces.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Microsoft Project Workspace template was used to create the document workspace. The Microsoft Project Workspace template does not define any site properties for the subsite.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, manually configure the site properties for the subsite by synchronizing the Microsoft Project meeting workspaces. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to Microsoft Project Web Access as an administrator.
  2. Click the Administration page.
  3. Click Manage Windows Sharepoint Services.
  4. On the left pane, click Manage Sharepoint Sites.
  5. Click the project, and then click Synchronize.
