No Sound After You Install Windows NT 4.0 on a Guest PC (824980)

SYMPTOMSAfter you install Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 on a guest PC, you may find that you do not receive any sound.CAUSEThis behavior may occur if the Windows NT 4.0 guest PC is not configured to use the sound card that is specified by Virtual PC. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this behavior, manually configure the sound functionality in your Windows NT 4.0 guest PC. To do so, install the Creative Labs Sound Blaster 1.X, Pro, 16 sound card and specify the following settings: I/O address: 220
IRQ: 5
DMA: 1
DMA 16-bit: 5
MPU: 330
To install the Creative Labs Sound Blaster 1.X, Pro, 16 sound card on your Windows NT 4.0 guest PC: - Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Multimedia, and then click the Devices tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Creative Labs Sound Blaster 1.X, Pro, 16, and then click OK.
- Follow the instructions that are displayed on the screen to specify the I/O address, IRQ, DMA, and MPU I/O settings.
