You Receive a LIST Command Error Message When You Connect to an Exchange Server (824884)

SYMPTOMSIf you set up a Microsoft Exchange e-mail account and try to connect to the Microsoft Exchange server, you receive the following error message:
The server returned the following error: LIST command received in invalid state
CAUSEThis problem occurs if you have configured your Exchange e-mail account to use a password when you receive e-mail messages.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
- Click the Exchange account, and then click Edit.
- In Receiving Mail, click click here for advanced receiving options, and then click to clear the Always Use Secure Password check box.
- Click OK.
- Close the Accounts window.
