XCCC: Internet Explorer Stops Responding When You View Folders in Outlook Web Access (824860)

SYMPTOMS

When you view a Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) folder by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer may stop responding (hang).

On the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer that is hosting OWA, Store.exe may have abruptly quit with a "divide by zero" error.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the folder view in OWA has no visible fields, such as in the By Sender view.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Exchange 2000 Server service pack that contains this hotfix.
