Error Message Occurs When You Start a Virtual Machine on a Computer That Has a USB Serial Adapter (824655)

SYMPTOMSWhen you start a virtual machine on a Macintosh computer
that has a USB serial adapter in place, you receive the following error message: "The PC name couldn't use the Mac serial port associated
with COM #. The port is likely in use by another PC or another application."
CAUSEIn Mac OS X, you must configure the USB-based serial
port in Virtual PC settings, and then restart the computer. If you view the
settings again after you restart the computer, Virtual PC incorrectly indicates that the
port is in use.STATUS
This problem was corrected in Virtual PC version 5.0.2 for Mac OS X.
