You Receive an Error Message When You Run the DCA After You Remove MCMS 2002 SP1 (824484)

SYMPTOMS

After you remove Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you run the Database Configuration Application (DCA). After you click Next in the Select MCMS Database dialog box, you receive an error message that states that the selected database is corrupted.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Locate and then open the <Cms_Root>\Server\Setup Files\SQL Install\_dca.ini file.
  2. Change the value of the TargetVersionLabel variable from the default value (Ucluelet) to CMS2002Sp1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
